Last week my dear friend Susan had to travel for work, so I was babysitting my little angel, Tina.

Tina had a dance competition in school and she was thoroughly preparing for it in the night. Before sleeping, Tina spoke to Susan on the phone and expressed that she was not feeling fully prepared for the competition. I could only hear Tina’s side of the phone conversation but through Tina’s changing expressions, I could make out that Susan had said something that calmed her down; she slept peacefully.

I started wondering how a few calming words from our loved ones can have a magical impact on our nerves. Isn’t this wonderful and strange at the same time…what we can’t tell our mind with 100,000 thoughts, our loved ones can tell us in just a few words, provided we listen!

Susan’s work got over early, so she came home before little Tina arrived back from school. What a precious moment it was when Tina saw Susan at home – she jumped and hugged Susan and handed her the little trophy that she had got for winning the dance competition…Tina could not stop showering hugs on Susan. While hugging, Tina kept saying “Thank you Mom for your prayers for my victory in the dance competition today”.

I was so proud of Tina too but I was more curious to know from Susan what she had told Tina over the phone and what’s the mention about the prayers?

After some time, when me and Susan were sipping our coffee, I asked Susan and what she told me was so simple yet magical – I told Tina that tonight I will pray to God to give you strength, courage and blessings for an incredible performance tomorrow. Although I pray to God for your well being every day, but today, I will make a special prayer to God – I am confident that God will shower His blessings on you. Just remember God and think of me cheering you before you start your act and then enjoy your performance. You will shine, my little star 🙂

Wow, isn’t that just amazing that a few words of motivation — and the wonders they can do. The real power of prayers.

Look around at all the loved ones you have, who want to give you blessings, wishes, courage, strength, etc. for your victory, your success, your prosperitylearn to acknowledge them and thank them each and every time you are around them. These well wishers are not looking for anything from you in return.

But do you owe them something? Think about it!

All you have to give them is your love and attention; that little acknowledgment that you appreciate their blessings – that’s it! Mind you, they don’t need it and they don’t expect it but if you do – it will make them feel happy 🙂 – do you agree?

Have you noticed that sometimes we are just stuck and can’t move beyond a level – then, something happens and we begin to shine, progress, grow, succeed – whatever you wish to call it….when that happens – it is through the blessings of our loved ones – it is their prayers for us being answered.

Always remember to be grateful to your parents, your spouse, your siblings, your friends, your inner circle – because they include you in their prayers, every day, wanting you to always be happy! So, be mindful to include others in your prayers too and thank each one of them for including you in theirs.

Just like my little Tina, who still can’t stop thanking Susan for her prayers – Whose prayers held you up this week? Have you told them?
