Do you give your Band-aid?

My friend, Suzie was in the kitchen chopping vegetables, while Tina was playing on her tab…..the usual view of every other household these days!

Suddenly, Suzie’s finger got cut and she rushed towards the basin to put the finger under water and Tina, though deep in her game, heard her Mom’s “Ouch” and left everything and rushed to bring a Band-aid from the medical box…..and stood next to Suzie, till she got her hand out of water and then, Tina gently helped Suzie put the Band-aid!

Awww…..such a lovely moment, isn’t it!

Recall the last few instances in your life when you were busy and caught up in your own game of life, just like my little Tina on her game on the tab…..and now ask yourself……

Did you get alerted with the pain, agony, scream, sob, tear or heard a little ouch from your loved ones when they cried out or silently sulked?

More often than not, we are too busy and sucked up in our own troubles so deeply and are in self pity mode that we forget to even acknowledge the pain our loved ones are going through!

Do you know that when we are in pain or going through a difficult phase, we know very well that Time will heal, we have to bear the pain of our actions, etc. but that Empathy, that moment of care, that Emotional Connect with our loved ones, that warm Hug, makes our loved ones feel special and gives them Hope, Strength and Courage to sail through their problems and it costs nothing. Trust me, in the bargain, you only feel better and better……Sometimes, you end up opening your own pandora box of problems and it soon becomes a two way effect (in scientific terms, what they call Symbiotic Relationship – each one benefits from the other :))

To conclude: Just like Tina, let us be ready with our Band Aid box and begin to ease the pain of our loved one’s in healing their wounds…… with Love, Care, Compassion and a little alertness……In these pandemic times, we all need to look out for each other and sympathize and empathize with a smile, a hug and a ear to hear, whoever and whenever they need it! What say? I can get you a Band-Aid, do let me know in the comment section below πŸ™‚ My box is full πŸ™‚
